Denver is a village and civil parish in the English county of Norfolk. It is located on the River Great Ouse, 1 mile (2 km) south of the small town of Downham Market, 14 miles (22 km) south of the larger town of King’s Lynn, and 37 miles (60 km) west of the city of Norwich. ~Wikipedia

The postcard says this is the post office, I assume it is the long building. This is opposite the church. For the present day post office reverse up the road a little.

  1. Myself and my husband live in this house and are trying to find out when it was originally built. I don’t know if anyone can help?

    1. Hi Carole, I can’t help much but the sub-postmaster there is recorded in 1900 as one James Horn and again in the 1911 census. I’d imagine it is still older though. I wish you luck. You could try looking online for old OS maps, they often mark buildings, that may get you back further…

This site helped me locate places when I wrote my book : http://historic-maps.norfolk.gov.uk/mapexplorer/
